New 1200-V high voltage integrated circuit technology and design advances enable a whole new class of 3-phase motor drive inverters that set new benchmarks for efficiency, compactness and ruggedness. The new IC, IR2233, reduces gate drive component counts by 88%, PCB space by 66% and production cost by 33% as compared to discrete circuits for a 460VAC 3-HP inverter.
